“The individual is not to blame for the crime and insanity which are the explosions consequent on the clogging of the safety valve. The fault lies with the engineer. At the present moment, society is blowing up in larger or smaller spots all over the world, because it has failed to develop a system by which all its members can be adequately nourished without conflict and the waste products eliminated without discomfort.”
-- Aleister Crowley

Psychological counseling in America now is the height of quackery.

An honest psychologist would begin a session by saying society is now apparently quite ill and so it is counterindicated to urge one to become or to assist one in becoming habituated to it. The honest shrink would say, “Kill your television. Liquidate your possessions. Buy a brink home in the country and stock it with a decade’s worth of food and seeds and books and hope to ride out the storm in one piece because the criminals are running the prison and their gig is beyond unsustainable.”

An honest shrink wouldn’t charge for this counseling, being that it spans no more than a few seconds and is a series of Truths so blatantly apparent that to pretend that such information is difficult to attain or is the fruits of deep study would be grossly fraudulent.

As we all know, that is not what happens. Instead what happens is the shrink tries to sell to the individual that which the individual is seeking to purchase.

One can presume that the average individual goes to see a shrink because he or she is alienated from and or neurotic because of lifestyle choices made in an attempt to conform to American society.

The TV attempts to bring images of what “normality” in America would look like into every home. And since that “normality” proves to be unattainable no matter how desperately sought, one begins to wonder if there is something wrong with oneself.

One then goes to a behavioral psychologist and says, “Make me normal.” Because the behavioral psychologist cannot bring himself or herself to be honest, he or she does not say, “The sane individual would not seek to be habituated to an insane society.” To do this would end early one’s career as a shrink.

This brings us to the crux of the problem discussed in this piece. As mentioned by in Bowart’s book “Operation Mind Control,” instead of using understanding of the human mind and human behavior to create a better world, behavioral psychologists use their knowledge to make as many people as possible comfortable with the world as it is.

A cursory glance at the medications dispensed for anxiety and general malaise reveals this reality. The active component in Prozac is sodium fluoride, a neurotoxin that is also the active component in rat poison.

This is to say that if you go to a shrink and tell him you’re having trouble getting your head around the hell unfolding around you, he urges you to take daily pills that will kill your brain. And then he charges you. “Pay up,” he says.

Modern medicine is thus continuing along its original trajectory. Times were you would go see a doctor for a fever and he’d tie you down, stick leeches on you and feed you mercury. And then he would charge you. “Pay up.”

In the end I guess we’ll get what we paid for.

Speaking of the end, black's cramped position here must be unwound quickly. While he is better developed than white, he has little play in what is becoming a positional game. Clearly the object would be to open the contested file and seek an advantage on that side of the board, where he has more material.

Tao Te Ching, Passage 38: " ... When the Tao is lost, there is goodness.
When goodness is lost, there is morality.
When morality is lost there is ritual.
Ritual is the husk of true faith,
the beginning of chaos."
